Good friends of ours were moving out of their house as it became infested with bats. Our friend awoke to one on his arm, and bats were seen inside the house. Since the utilities were still on, our friends generously offered to let us record there for the night, which was fortunate because everywhere else was unavailable.

While we were unloading our stuff, they told us a story about the house. One day, while someone was in the bathroom, a snake fell down thru the tile ceiling onto her head. There were lots of stories like that about the house being haunted etc.

We never had any trouble with the bats during our session. It was cool because the space had a certain vibe, a kind of bridge between moving on and being gone.

A few days after we finished recording I talked to another friend who lived inside the house. They were going to use the space to practice, but things got crazy when they encountered a bat that didn't want to leave.
